Maxwell Dunmore
8 years with the Guardians and nobody reads a room faster.
Maxwell Dunmore — "Max" to everyone on the team — is the kind of person who makes hard situations feel manageable. Eight years with Guardians International, another stretch as a Scotland police officer before that, and he's one of those rare operators who's equally comfortable behind the wheel of an armored vehicle or standing in the middle of a firefight telling everyone to breathe. He's the one who holds the team together when things are coming apart. And things come apart a lot.
Oban, Scotland-born and raised. He walks into rooms like he's already cataloged every exit, every angle, every person whose body language doesn't match the conversation. Stiff posture. Eyes that don't stop moving. Not paranoid — prepared. When he's not on a mission he's chasing good whiskey and good company, in that order. Oban on the rocks after a bad op. He'd tell you that's not a problem, it's a solution. He's not wrong.
Driver first. The armored vehicle is his domain — smoke countermeasures, evasive maneuvering, the kind of driving that looks reckless until you realize it's actually precise. Carries a Fostech Origin 12 Shotgun and a PHASR Rifle for the moments when things escalate past the point where driving helps. He's the one Quan trusts with the things he can't say out loud. When there's a mole in the team and the conversation needs to happen in private, it's Max who gets pulled into it.
ISFJ — Defender. Happy-go-lucky on the surface. Jaded underneath. He shows up every day because the people next to him need him to, and he's never once made that feel like a burden. He's the reason the team doesn't fall apart. And he never says a word about it.
