Samuel Mostert
The man who keeps the team's spirits up when everything else is falling apart.
Samuel Mostert — "Sam" — is the reason the Guardians are still a team when the mission is over. He's the Chief Communications Officer, which sounds corporate until you realize it means he's the one running coordination during firefights, managing the encrypted comms when things go sideways, and making sure the right people know the right things at the right time. He's also the one who walks into a room of exhausted operators and tells a story so absurd that everyone forgets they're running on four hours of sleep and adrenaline. Tall tales. That's his move.
Dangriga, Belize-born. Five-foot-five, built like he enjoys good food and good company. Ten years working alongside Gong Wei Quan, which is a relationship built on something deeper than professional respect — Sam would tell you he'd put his life in Quan's hands without a second thought. And Quan's never once questioned whether that trust is earned. Not much is known about Sam before the Guardians showed up in his life. That's by design. He's the kind of person who keeps his past exactly where it belongs: behind him.
ESFP — Entertainer. Not because he performs, but because he notices. He reads a room faster than most people read a screen. He knows when someone needs a distraction and when they need to talk. He's the person Quan trusts to walk into a corporate meeting and come out with a contract. He's the one who got sent to pitch Guardians to Julia Bensons at Dynamic Technologies — and came face to face with Dr. Clarence in the process. Anyone who's met Clarence once doesn't forget it. Sam is no exception.
On comms, he's calm and precise. In person, he's warm and a little too loud and always, always the last person to leave a good bar. He's the reason the team stays together between missions. And he makes sure everyone knows it.
